Qilla Saifullah or Killa Saifullah is a fort (qilla) built by Saifullah Khan, belonging to Mirdadzai Khoidadadza tribe of Kakars. The Qilla Saifullah District of Pakistan derives its name from this fort.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND:
Saifullah was born in 1827 in killa saifullah (former Upper Zhob) and was the grandson of religious scholar Faiz ullah Akhunzada (Zarh Nikka). In 7th of October when the British forces attacked his Qilla (now Rabat Karaiz) and the the Qilla of Shah Jehan Jogezai (The Badshah of Zhob) near Akhterzai (also called Daultzai Battle by Sir Aitecheson), Shah Jahan, Saifullah and Hamza Daultzai fought bravely in the Daulatzai hills, Malik Hamza Daultzai and Ghaus Mohammad were killed and Shah Jehan and Saifullah Khan had a naarrow escape, went to Kalat Afghanistan to raise insurgency against the British. All the remaining tribal heads along with their 500 men admitted their submission to the British forces and also sighed a treaty with the British that they will not interfere with their any thing in Zhob (Ref: Zhob Gazeeter Volume 2).
Saifullah was great freedom fighter, warrior, man of courage and a symol of bravery.
In famous Pashtu poetical verses quoted for his bravey , " Grana khuff dai ka baran dai............ Ka zhobi Saifullah Khan dai" (Translation: Is it torrential rain , dense fog, or the fighting carvanan of Zhobi Saifullah crossing by).
